The sores (look like chicken pox) usually radiate out along nerve paths in the chest, back, neck or face, leaving the rest of the body unaffected. The sores blister, pop and cover themselves with a yellow crust. Other symptoms include fever, stomach upset, itching, deep pain and hypertension. For more detailed information about this disease, see Shingle Disease Top-Selling Books.
Shingles disease is a very painful condition caused by the same virus (herpes zoster) as chicken pox. The virus lies dormant until "triggered" by physical/emotional trauma, cancer or other disease.
Note: My mother in law suffered a head-on car accident which totaled the car, though no one suffered injury. A few days later, a large part of her neck and chest had shingles sores.
Shingles disease has to run its course (2-3 weeks) during which time, pain medication and topical treatments may be prescribed by your doctor. Always see a doctor for Shingles, because this may be a symptom of a more serious disease. After Shingles Disease runs its course, it shouldn't return unless there is another trauma.
Check with your doctor, but Taking a daily dose of 1,000 mg L-Lysine (adults) may decrease the severity and duration of Shingles Disease. To build your body's immune system and help prevent secondary infection, you can supplement your diet with natural Multi-Vitamins and Multi-Minerals, along with extra doses of the following:
Antioxidants; including
Beta Carotene,
Flavonoids,
Vitamin A,
Zinc,
Vitamin E,
Vitamin C and
CoQ10.
Lipoic Acid; at least
200 mg divided into 2-3 doses per day.
Organic Germanium; 300-450mg
divided into 3 doses a day.
Vitamin B Complex
Garlic; 3 cloves
per day.
Drinking Clean Water;
2-3 quarts daily.
