This is an inflammatory disease. The first symptoms are similar to the flu, but not everyone infected will show symptoms. Often, a target-shaped rash (1-3 inches or larger) appears around the site where the infection began. Later symptoms include stiff neck, joint pain, itching and strange behavior.
Bacteria is transferred from animals (mice and deer) by tick bite.
Antibiotics are the primary medicine to treat Lyme disease. If there are no symptoms, but a tick bite has occurred, visit a doctor to have a blood test done.
Prevention is often the best treatment. Always inspect clothing and skin after walks in parks, country, tall grass, sandy areas, attic or basement...anywhere rodents or deer could have been. Always inspect pets and children by combing or brushing their hair.
Health conditions can be frustrating and painful...sometimes even fatal. We both know there are no guaranteed cures or quick fixes, whether medicine, nutrition, herbs or anything else. Many illnesses are "incurable" from the medical standpoint. Complete healing is possible...including mind, body and spirit...from God.
